In the release notes of Apple Configurator 1.5 Developer Preview there is an interesting reference regarding iOS 7.1, the upcoming software update for iPhones and iPads.

According to people with access to the documentation, Apple reveals that Apple Configurator 1.5, when released to the public, will include a new AirPlay pairing restriction when encountering an iOS 7.1 device.

“In an effort to improve the security of AirPlay streaming, there is a new restriction in iOS 7.1 that will require the Apple TV to display a pin code which must be entered on the iOS device to authorize the initial pairing of the devices,” the company says.

Developers say that, with this setting in place, a pin code will not be needed for subsequent connections.

Configurator 1.5 also now supports specifying an MDM enrollment URL to enroll devices with an MDM server, according to the same people.
