“Users simply need to complete their purchase and receive instant access”

A new jailbreak scam is on the loose, asking iOS 7 users for money in exchange for an unconfirmed hack.

A press release titled “Speedy iPhone 5 Jailbreak Download for iOS 7.0.4 Released” is making the rounds, bearing multiple clues that the people behind the advertised hack are, in fact, trying to fool unwary users into buying a product that doesn’t exist.

“iJailbreak Pro, the team behind the industry’s pioneering jailbreak for the latest iDevice Operating Systems 7 and 7.0.4, has taken yet another step to delight Apple users.”

“The team of experts has announced improved speed in its iPhone jailbreak process. Get your speedy iPhone 5 jailbreak download from ijailbreakpro.com,” reads the scam.

The sellers then say, “users simply need to complete their purchase and receive instant access to the software.”

As any savvy iPhone user will tell you, real jailbreaks are always free. Their creators never ask for money in return for the goods, but they will accept donations.

An iOS 7.0.4 jailbreak has yet to be released by the Evad3rs, the only known group of hackers actively working for the jailbreak community.

If they haven’t cracked it, you can be sure iJailbreakPro (and others like them) are selling you a product that doesn’t exist.

iJailbreakPro even claims to be offering some sort of sale on three different versions of their purported jailbreak tool, including Gold, Platinum and Diamond editions.

They even have a timer rigged up to make it seem that the offer is going away.

The features list for each version is chock full of imaginary benefits, like “full 24/7 support” (as if someone is really going to pick up the phone when you are having problems jailbreaking your iOS 7 device).

Other so called perks include “instant access,” “full jailbreak,” “jailbreak multiple devices,” “free apps,” and even screen replacement guides.
