A research note signed KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tells investors, “We expect Apple to unveil iOS 6 GM (Golden Master) in early September.”

Obtained by AppleInsider, the note says that, “Based on the release schedule for iOS 6 GM, there is a very good chance iPhone 5 will start shipping also in early September.”

Kuo outlines some "major modifications" that KGI expects to see in iOS 6, including more integration with iCloud and Facebook, more ties to the iTunes Store and App Store, an updated user interface, a map service designed by Apple (replacing Google Maps), and improved Spotlight functions.

Needless to point out, many of these predictions are no-brainers based on the latest leaks and rumors. But it never hurts to see financial analysts trusting the accuracy of such reports.

Apple is rumored to be releasing a beta of iOS 6 to developers today.
