If you make a trip to Google and type iOS 6.1.3 in the main search field, you’ll be greeted by several suggestions which include the word “issues.” And it’s hardly a surprise, as the software has some.

One of the biggest complaints regarding the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system has been battery drainage.

Apple’s forums are filled with cries from iPhone and iPad customers reporting the same issue over and over again. Many of them have tried everything in their power to reduce the drainage, but to no avail. Some have been able to rid their devices of the flaw.

iOS 6.1.3 also seems to have some bugs that hinder Wi-Fi connectivity on certain iDevices. Customers on a separate forum thread are actively discussing the issue.

Apple last month released a Support document in which it said the company was preparing a software update to change VPN behavior in iOS, but the company has since backtracked on its decision.

However, an incremental iOS 6.1.4 software update is still required to fix the bugs, and other potential (security) issues in the software.

Apple is known to be testing iOS 7 internally, but that version isn’t coming out until summer or fall.
