Sitting modestly at just 100 views with only a handful of replies yesterday, a reported thread on Apple’s forums discussing a potential battery drain issue with iOS 6.0.2 is growing larger every day.

In fact, additional threads are being started in what is sure to become an epidemic until Apple releases iOS 6.0.3, or iOS 6.1 with a patch.

Customers wielding an iPhone 5 or an iPad mini are reporting that Apple’s latest iOS update has crippled their devices’ autonomy. Their batteries are reportedly depleting faster than they normally should, and the culprit has been confirmed as iOS 6.0.2.

As reported yesterday, if you’re not having any issues with your Wi-Fi connection – which iOS 6.0.2 will supposedly fix – try to avoid the update on your iPhone 5 or iPad mini until the situation gets cleared.

Epidemic?
Crippled autonomy?
Confirmed culprit?

You've made the list of sensationalistic writers, begging for readership, by over zealous vocabulary.
I'll be sure to take anything you proclaim with a very generous grain of salt.

Jezebel.

I downgraded my iPad mini back to 6.0.1 but it didn't make a difference....I'm confused about it? If I did a downgrade then you would think it would work. Apple has more * up's! Stop releasing software and just make one that works!!

I downgraded too, but still my ipad mini drains way faster...I don't get it either. The ipad mini is not a cheap device! Now I'm back using my ipad2. Thanks Apple! Retards!!
