Customers accepting the iOS 5.0.1 update via AppleSeed to provide Cupertino with feedback are reporting improvement in their phones’ battery life.

Wired reader Donald Kuntzman says "Frankly, the difference is nothing short of amazing. To go almost an entire day without a change in the meter reading seems unbelievable. Where before I could almost watch the battery drain, now it doesn't move at all."

Another person shared a screenshot with the magazine pointing out to the improvement, and claimed that with iOS 5.0.1, his iPhone is now losing only 3% to 4% power per hour. With iOS 5, his battery would lose 15% of its juice every 60 minutes.

However, the problem is far from being solved, according to the report. Although many others are seeing the battery life improvement on their respective phones, some said iOS 5.0.1 did nothing to alleviate their problems. Some, in fact, claimed that iOS 5.0.1 drained their battery even faster.

I'm still losing 1% every 3 minutes. Whether on standby or in use. iOS 5.0.1 has had no change on battery usage.
