Free access to The Daily iPad magazine has been extended beyond the original two-week trial period until February 28th, a German blog reveals, fueling rumors that iOS 4.3 will deliver the much needed recurring subscription plan and AT&T Personal Hotspot features just ahead of this month’s end.

Rumors saying Apple’s next iOS update could also drop on February 28th were more than predictable.

Previous speculation centered on the end date of The Daily’s original trial period with a presumed release on February 14th (yesterday), leaving three more days of free use for users to make up their minds.

The extension to The Daily’s free access was spotted by Macerkopf, a German Mac blog.

They noticed that the expiry date of their subscription had changed within the “Account Information”.

Now that News Corp.’s digital magazine is featuring an extended trial period, many believe iOS 4.3, which is said to deliver a magazine subscription model required by The Daily, will arrive on February 28th at most.

The firmware update is to be made available for all iDevices and should also bring the Personal Hotspot feature from iOS 4.2.6 (Verizon iPhone 4) over to GSM (AT&T) handsets currently running iOS 4.2.1.

Apple is currently testing iOS 4.3 internally, and has reached the third beta since development originally began last month.

The Daily, launched at a special event in New York earlier this month, is the first digital news publication with original content created every day exclusively for the iPad.

It was built from scratch by a team of top journalists and designers and covers news in sports, pop culture, entertainment, apps, games, technology, opinion, celebrity gossip and more, from all over the world.

The app was updated to version 1.0.1 recently, an update that delivers some maintenance. Existing users are advised to delete the app before downloading the new version, likely to avoid certain incompatibility issues.
