A reputable source of rumors claims to have learned that iOS 4.3.2 is in the works (as if there was a chance it wasn’t), and that it’s being released in roughly two weeks’ time.

BGR went on record today to inform that one of its Apple 'ninjas' said the company was working on another iOS 4.3.x release, specifically iOS 4.3.2.

According to this person, Apple is aiming not only to squash bugs and address security issues, but also to include a few enhancements, though no specifics are given.

Not to worry. We have a pretty good idea what those security issues include - the FaceTime glitch reported by Apple Discussions users earlier this week.

Apparently the service is flawed, but only under iOS 4.3.1 where it takes the user’s picture without his / her consent and briefly displays it the next time FaceTime is launched.

It may not be a security issue by definition, though.

In normal circumstances, the owner of the iPhone or iPod touch device employed for FaceTime calls should be the only person responsible with handling that unit, therefore it’s more a matter of fixing a spooky bug, rather than a privacy-exposing error.

Either way, the issue is bound to be fixed in the next iOS software update, and it might even arrive earlier than two weeks, if Apple decides it’s serious enough to require immediate patching.

Yet BGR’s source says to expect the software update in about two weeks. It will be available for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, this person reportedly said.

The last iOS firmware update dished out by Apple was released March 25.

Superseding iOS 4.3, a major new release for all iDevices, the point-1 update was tasked with fixing graphics glitches experienced by iPod touch owners, image flicker when using the Apple Digital AV Adapter, and more.
