The iOS 4.1 GM seed and iOS SDK 4.1 are now available for download from Apple’s iPhone Dev Center, where registered Apple developers are encouraged to review the latest Xcode documentation, and the seed notes accompanying the new iOS releases.

“iOS Developer Program members can log in to the iOS Dev Center to download iOS 4.1 GM seed and iOS SDK 4.1 GM seed,” Apple says in an announcement posted to the iOS Dev Center.

“Review the Xcode 3.2.4 Readme and the iOS SDK 4.1 GM seed Release Notes before installing and developing with these new releases,” Apple instructs those enrolled in the company’s iPhone Developer program.

Speaking of which, the iPhone Developer Program is now called iOS Developer Program, Apple announced in a separate post.

“The iPhone Developer Program is now the iOS Developer Program,” Apple bluntly states.

“You will continue to access the same program benefits and technical resources for developing and distributing your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch apps,” the Mac maker elaborates.

A third announcement posted by Apple on September 1 for iOS developers concerns Game Center.

For those looking to get started with Apple’s social gaming network, Apple has a few handy tips.

“Game Center is Apple's new social gaming network that allows your users to invite friends to play a game, start a multiplayer game through auto-matching, track their achievements, and compare their best scores on a leaderboard,” Cupertino explains.

“Learn everything you need to know about developing your apps for Game Center, from understanding the fundamentals to updating your Game Center app once it’s on the App Store,” Apple adds.

There are various places to learn about the particularities of Game Center, one of them being Apple’s iPod touch section.
