Apple yesterday released new versions of its iLife applications for iDevices, including an updated iMovie build that weighs in at 404 MB. At the time of the announcement, Apple was yet to offer the updated version via its App Store.

The new iMovie 1.3 for iPhone and iPad has been enhanced with a few nifty features, such as the ability to “create beautiful movie trailers with stunning graphics and world-class soundtracks,” and the ability to swipe up on the playhead to freeze a frame.

Customers can now preview music and sound effects in the Audio Browser, and they can create a song in GarageBand and send it directly to iMovie on their iDevice.

Apple notes that the Trailers function is available only on A5 devices - iPhone 4 or later and iPad 2 or later.
