Tagging the people in your photos

iLovePhotos, the Mac desktop application and website that uses face detection to help you tag, organize, and share your photos, now focuses on the ability to integrate with Address Book and to assign tagged people to your list of iPhone contacts. iLovePhotos (a Softpedia freeware pick) is free to download and use for as long as you
want.

iLovePhotos boasts face detection, automatic sharing and smart slideshows, as some of its main features. It makes it easy to tag people in your photo library, while the integration with Address Book allows it to assign tagged people in your photos to your contacts. The tagging works pretty much like Apple's latest update to iPhoto ('09). However, the folks at Blue Lava Technologies have been doing it for quite some time now, and pretty well, I might add.

Basically, iLovePhotos is aimed at those who love taking photos everywhere they go. But old photos are prone to getting lost, forgotten, or even deleted by accident. With iLovePhotos' visual tagging interface, users can organize all their images in a matter of minutes. iLovePhotos' ability to organize your pictures using an algorithmic facial detection technology is the app's most distinctive feature. It integrates facial detection and an intelligent platform to display photos you probably even forgot you owned. Automatic sharing and Address Book integration round up the list of iLovePhotos advantages.

Blue Lava is offering both the desktop application and the web-based sharing service for free. You can upload your favorite photos to your account in seconds, or share those photos with your loved ones, all from the desktop application, which you can grab for yourself using the link below. iLovePhotos requires a Mac running OS X Tiger (10.4) or later, an Internet connection (to share photos) and, as Blue Lava puts it, “a love for photos.” Below is also the video from Blue Lava's viral campaign that focuses on the ability of iLovePhotos to integrate with the Mac OS X Address Book application.
