i-Home iH5 works with iPod, iPod mini, iPod Photo and iPod nano

I assume you've had your weekly share of iPod docks "news". Well, here's another one. The iHome is not boasting new tech, but if you're looking for a cheap alarm clock with an iPod dock, it might be worth a look.

SDI Technologies recently announced their latest and greatest iPod dock: the i-Home iH8. This a follow-on to the iHome iH5 and it works with most iPods (iPod, iPod mini, iPod Photo and iPod nano).

The dock comes in a clunky design that looks similar to its predecessor. It boasts a LCD screen that could display big time numbers, just in case your bed is installed kilometers away from your desk or something. The clock acts like a speaker so you can listen to your music anytime, anywhere (almost anywhere). You can use with the AC adapter or with an AAA battery.

The i-Home iH8 is equipped with two 3 W speakers and comes with a remote control. It lets you start the day by listening to the sound of your favourite tunes or with the FM/AM radio (no Sirius or XM tuner). Other features include the compulsory and irritating snooze button. It also has a function that allows you to adjust the light from the screen so it won't bother you while you're body switches to sleep mode. And here's the best part. There's also a sleep timer that can be set to gradually reduce the volume of the music. As you would've probably expected, the iH8 will also charge your iPod (as long as it's docked evidently).

It retails for 14,800 Yen (about 123$), which is less expensive than other speakers or docks for all that matters.
