Bluetooth was a rare commodity at Apple a while ago, but now, just about all of the iDevices offer, to various degrees, access to this technology, and for this reason, iHome, a traditional manufacturer of audio accessories for Apple products, has launched (and is now shipping) the iA100 Bluetooth audio system for iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

The iA100 is marketed as iHome's flagship product, since, in addition to FM radio, the device Bluetooth, app-enhancement, and Studio Series sound performance using Bongiovi Acoustics DPS.

Furthermore, the iA100's top docking system sports a universal dock design that supports charging, playback, and app-enhanced communication for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod, while a removable rubber insert gives additional clearance to accommodate a wide variety of accessory cases that users typically buy for their iPads, iPhones, and iPods.

The iA100 uses 4 speakers in a compact stereo configuration to deliver a premium sound solution for the bedroom powered by Bongiovi Acoustics DPS.

And since we're on the topic of audio, we'll also have to point out that bass, mid, treble, 3D and balance controls let users customize their audio, while the Reson8 speaker chambers deliver a very good level of clarity.

In terms of Bluetooth, it's important to mention that the device from iHome supports the Bluetooth hands-free profile, meaning that it can act as some sort of speakerphone for the various devices connected to it.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll point out that the app-enhanced features are unlocked by iHome+Sleep, a free sleep-lifestyle app, and by iHome+Radio, an internet radio app.

Through these apps, running on iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad, the iA100 becomes a feature rich, fully connected speaker system with nearly infinite sleep-to and wake-to settings and social networking features.

Pricing for the iA100 Bluetooth docking station has been set at a cool 200 US dollars, which is actually quite OK, given the features this thing has in store.
