As a Halo 3 gamer and an iPhone owner how would you feel about an application that shows you exactly how you and your friends are doing in the game, wherever you are, whenever you want? A few simple input commands and the iHaloStats bring up all ranks, kills, skills, medals, and even promotions, whether they're yours or your fellow Halo 3 gamers'.

Surely, you have one or two friends bragging about their progress, so if you need solid proof, iHaloStats is the app for you. Just type in a gamertag and you're instantly able to see how that particular gamer is doing in Halo 3.

Having acquired his very own iPhone, Kato came up with the customized software as he soon realised the fair possibility of installing such an app. "The only problem was that Bungie's stats site isn't tailored for the tight confines of Apple's touch-screen phone."

It took a couple of months to finish, but Kato can now confirm that iHaloStats is an iPhone-worthy app. You can check it out right here, but keep in mind that certain browsers may not render it faithfully. ("Internet Explorer refuses to display it and Firefox doesn't support some of the nice CSS 3 elements like drop shadows, rounded borders, and color transparency," as the man confirms). iHaloStats is taylored specifically for the iPhone version of Safari.

"iHaloStats: Check a player's vital Halo 3 statistics, including service record, medals, weapon use, and rank history. All the important information at your fingertips," is the original description provided by its creator, up on Apple's online webapps directory.

Halo 3 is only the hit video game of 2007 (and it probably still is) for Microsoft's Xbox 360 userbase. Some take the experience so far that Bungie, the company behind the game, rewards them for the progress. Thus, if even as little as one Halo 3 gamer on the planet owns an iPhone too, you can bet he/she will be looking into the iHaloStats app ASAP.

Xbox Live's Director of Programming, Larry Hyrb (aka Major Nelson), is the example-gamertag provided by Kato in the image above.
