iPhone hacker iH8sn0w, the guy who made f0recast, iFaith, and sn0wbreeze, has announced an update to his iREB tool that allows you to fix iTunes errors and restore to a custom IPSW to achieve a jailbreak.

Via Twitter comes this short message from iH8sn0w: “I updated iREB for the first time in 10 months. Release 5 is now available at ih8sn0w.com”

The iREB r5 release notes say the download is now much smaller (just 390kb), and that the USB 3.0 issues have been fixed.

“iREB's speed for the iPhone 2G/iPhone 3G/iPod Touch 1G has increased significantly,” the hacker adds. He also managed to fix some rare DFU detection issues, and updated limera1n/steaks4uce payload.

iREB is a Windows-only tool. Full details over at http://pastie.org/3175967.
