The tinkerers at iFixit have just launched their own iOS application called “iFixit: Repair Manual.” As its name implies, the iPad-only app contains the company’s comprehensive, free repair manuals for pretty much every Apple portable, as well as for gaming consoles and cell phones.

The team at iFixit is well known for having taken apart all products released by Apple in recent years.

Every teardown is thoroughly documented and presented to the world in a comprehensive and, on occasion, funny manner.

The company, however, primarily specializes in fixing stuff. It sells replacement parts, as well as the actual tools people need to get the job done at home.

“We fund these manuals by selling parts and tools,” the team at iFixit states. “If you use our manual to fix something, support our work by buying the parts from us.” “We offer thousands of MacBook, iMac, iPod, iPhone, and game console parts.”

The newly emerged iPad app should see a warm welcome from those who like to replace their iPod’s battery, upgrade a portable Mac’s hard drive etc.
