2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is about to start and now users have access to an application that helps them see the competition's calendar and numerous other details about the matches.

The application is called iCup 2014 Brazil and you can easily deduce from the name that it was not aimed specifically at the Linux platform. The developer, Pier Luigi Covarelli, made the software cross-platform and it works without any major problems.

We tested the app in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and it doesn't seem to have any strange dependencies. The application is in binary form and users don't have to install anything.

“With this program you can view matches schedule, groups and second stage table and detailed information about scorers, events, statistics and formations of every match. The online update gets real-time data during matches time,” reads the official website.

iCup 2014 Brazil features a searchable matches calendar that can be grouped by day or stage, timezone conversion, social integration, and more.

The software is free to use, at least on Linux, and users should have access to all of the features. You can find more details about the app on the website and you can download it from the same place.
