John Herbold has renounced his position as Senior Product Manager of iCloud at Apple Inc. to join HealthTeacher and become Vice President of Product. John will lead and oversee the development of  world-class interactive health teaching tools.

HealthTeacher saves us the trouble of digging up information on Herbold and reveals in a news report that John played a key role in the creation, development and launch of iCloud.

iCloud is Apple’s new suite of Internet services that replaces MobileMe, keeping its key offerings while adding new ones as well.

John also led the development and marketing of Photo Stream, a feature that is typical to the upcoming iCloud service.

Before working on iCloud, John handled the MobileMe team as Senior Product Manager.

All in all, during his time at Apple, John defined, shipped and marketed numerous products, HealthTeacher said, including iPhone and iPad apps.

He is also known to have worked as a technology investment banking analyst at A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc.

As far as his studies are concerned, he earned his M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and his B.S. in finance from Miami University.

“John has a proven background of engaging audiences across the devices we use to learn, play, socialize and be entertained,” said Scott McQuigg, CEO of HealthTeacher.

“Applying his experience developing world-class interactive products, John will lead our efforts to broaden digital engagement with kids, their families and their teachers, all focused on measurably improving youth health,” added McQuigg.

Herbold also had a few things to say about his new Job.

According to the quote provided by HealthTeacher, he is eager to get working and “create engaging and innovative experiences that make good health cool and aspirational—all while encouraging kids to move beyond the screen and be more active,” all with the purpose of dramatically bending the curve on youth health.

Herbold continued: “HealthTeacher is already playing a significant role in improving youth health through its work with teachers and schools. I look forward to leading the effort to enhance digital engagement that will equip our youth for a more successful future.”
