Gaming enthusiasts have now yet another machine of potential interest for them, the Paladin 998 from iBuyPower. As the name of the company also suggests, this latest gaming PC does have what it takes to be noticed. iBuyPower packed as a standard configuration inside a Cooler Master HAF 932 case the Q9550 Intel Core 2 Quad Processor, 4GB of DDR3 1333 memory along with a 500GB SATA-2 7,200rpm hard-drive. An ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics solution completes the list.

Yet, this is not all the company has to offer. A long list of customizations is also available, allowing customers to create even more powerful configurations if they feel like doing so.

A DVD-RW and a read-only Blu-ray drive are included in the standard configuration of Paladin 998. In addition, the machine comes with liquid cooling and an 8-channel surround sound. Even more, you don't even have to wait that much before starting to use it, as iBuyPower has also included a copy of Halo 2 in the package. The options list allows users to choose an Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor QX9770, Asus Striker II Extreme nForce 790i motherboard, 8GB of RAM, as well as dual ATI Radeon 4870 X2 cards.

When it comes to storage space, there is always the iBuyPower_Paladin_998_3Storage options, that can go up to 1.5TB with two 7,200rpm HDDs, as well as a 300GB 10,000rpm WD Raptor choice, or a 32GB MLC SSD. Users can have one of these on the system for the primary driver option and, if going for the second as well, some might consider getting dual Blu-ray burners.

The price for the basic configuration of the Paladin 998 has been set at $1,999, and includes Vista Home Premium 64-bit, a 3-year warranty, and lifetime support. For those that will resort to the options list, the price of the system will most likely go up, even well above $5,000.
