RTS fans, along with all mobile gaming enthusiasts will be glad to know that the growing collection of high-end gaming notebooks has just increased by one member, especially considering the benefits that this newcomer claims to bring. Developed by iBuyPower, the Battalion Touch CZ-11 not only merges DirectX 11 graphics from Advanced Micro Devices with processing power from Intel, but even provides the extra benefit of direct control through multi-touch input.

The Battalion Touch CZ-11 is the successor to the Battalion Touch CZ-10. In fact, according to the company, its Battalion Touch mobile systems are “the only multi-touch gaming notebooks currently available anywhere in the world.” The newer model has a screen size of 15 inches, a maximum resolution of Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and the graphics capabilities, including DirectX 11, of the ATI Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics card.

The laptop's configuration also includes an Intel Core i5/i7 processor, 4GB or even 8GB DDR3 memory, a hard disk with up to 640GB storage space and an optional Blu-ray drive. The press release described the company's new product as ideal for real-time strategy (RTS) games, mainly because its multitouch input capabilities can enable users to take control of the battlefield more easily.

“Multi-touch is one of the fastest growing PC gaming interfaces,” said Darren Su, Executive Vice President of iBUYPOWER. “Pairing those capabilities with a Core i7 processor, high definition LCD and graphics card allows the CZ-11 to meet the mobile gaming needs of almost any user.”

Other specifications of the device include a fingerprint reader, a three-in-one card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, a 2-megapixel webcam and WiFi. The regular Battalion CZ-11 gaming notebook has a starting price of $1,299 but has the option of cheaper components, allowing it to cost as little as roughly $1,100. The product comes with a standard one-year warranty and lifetime technical support.
