The new slate runs under Android 4.1, is priced at INR 15,000

Today, iBall has made official a new tablet PC in India, namely the iBall Slide 3G-9728, a device running under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Packing a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) touchscreen display, the new device is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A9 dual-core processor complemented by 1GB of RAM. It also includes 16GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot.

The specs list of the slate shows 3G support, a 6000 mAh battery, and voice calling capabilities on 2G networks. There is also a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, as well as a VGA front camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, MicroUSB, and FM Radio.

The new device was announced with a price tag of INR 15,000 (around $250 / €195), but iBall themselves already list it online a bit cheaper, AndroidOS reports.

“iBall Slide 3G 9728 is a powerful gizmo with the power packed features including 16GB storage and 5MP Auto focus camera. We are delighted to present this 9.7” 3G tablet at the most appealing price to the users,” Sandeep Parasrampuria, director, said.
