Dual-SIM phones are among the most popular handsets in India. Due to the fact that this is still an emerging market, Indian customers prefer dual-SIM devices regardless of the platform they run.

This seems to be the reason behind iBall's decision to launch a new dual-SIM Android smartphone on the Indian market, the Andi 2. iBall is a regional manufacturer, new on the smartphone market.

In fact, Andi 2 is only the second smartphone launched by iBall on the market. Currently, the company is still selling its first product, Andi. The device is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo and can be purchased for only Rs 5,400 (105 USD or 80 EUR).

Unfortunately, Andi 2 has no software improvements in comparison with its predecessor. iBall's Andi 2 smartphone runs the same Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and it sells for Rs 9,999 (195 USD or 150 EUR) outright.

However, Andi 2's selling point is the dual-SIM capability, so other than that don't expect other interesting features from this one.

Aimed at the “young, urban user,” iBall's Andi 2 comes with 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display and packs a low-performance 800 MHz single-core processor.

It appears that the smartphone has been enhanced with exceptional sound quality, “a hallmark of every iBall product.” In this regard, Andi 2 sports a 3.5mm earphone jack, so users can take advantage of their own professional headphones.

In addition, on the back of the phone, there's a mediocre 3-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front there's secondary VGA camera for video calls.

In the connectivity front, Andi 2 offers standard features, including Bluetooth and Wi- Fi support, along with GPRS and 3G capabilities.

There are no details on the amount of memory, but iBall mentions Andi 2 comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion. iBall has packed a 1450mAh Lithium-ion A-class battery in the smartphone, so expect high autonomy from this one.
