Indian OEM iBall has just announced the official launch of the affordable Andi 4.5z smartphone powered by Google’s Android platform. Fans of the brand probably know by now that the device went on sale about two weeks ago through various retailers across the country.

The good news is that nothing has changed since the phone’s silent release in India, as the iBall announced that the smartphone has been priced at Rs 7,499 ($120/€90) outright, which is the same price the device was selling until today.

“Andi 4.5z is truly made for today’s generation who wants the best of both the worlds – be it looks or performance. It is surely going to capture hearts with its captivating looks and fast performance,” said Sandeep Parasrampuria, director, iBall.

Specs-wise, iBall Andi 4.5z is quite decent for the price you have to pay. On top of that, it comes powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which is not that bad considering that lots of high-end smartphones have yet to receive Android 4.3 upgrades.

As the name suggests, Andi 4.5z sports a vibrant 4.5-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

Dual-SIM support is included as well, so users will be able to fit in two SIMs. On the inside, iBall Ani 4.5z comes equipped with 1.3 GHz dual-core processor provided by MediaTek, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

That’s way too low, so users will need to add a microSD memory card in order to expand storage (up to 32GB). There’s also an 8-megapixel main camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

The Andi 4.5z also sports a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls and a high-capacity 1700 mAh Li-Ion battery. The usual connectivity options are provided as well, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G.
