We’re not told what sort of OS runs on the device

Huawei had a very busy day yesterday launching the affordable Honor 7 smartphone. But even if the handset took the spotlight, you should also know that the Chinese company also announced the very sleek Honor Band Zero smartwatch.

As you can see, Huawei is a promoter of the circular form factor. The company also unveiled a round smartwatch product back at MWC 2015, which looked very similar to the analog watches.

Anyway, Huawei posted a few images of the device of the Honor Band Zero on Twitter, giving us a glimpse of what we should expect. To compare, the older model seems classier while the upcoming one looks sportier to our eyes.

Huawei hasn’t shared that much information related to the Honor Band Zero, but from the image, we can see that the gadget features a circular touch display with brushed metal bezel around it.

Apparently, the wearable has IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, so technically, you can take a quick shower while still keeping it around your arm.

Huawei dabs into wearables again

The Honor Band Zero is able to display phone calls, as well as message notifications. It can also act as a pedometer and sleep tracker. We can also tell you that the Band Zero will be offered in Black, Beige and White belt options.

Huawei has remained mum about what sort of OS we’re going to see run onboard, but we can only guess that we’re talking about Android Wear. Pricing specifications haven’t been revealed either.

While we wait for Huawei to make more details public about the its new smartwatch product, we’re taking the opportunity to remind you of the company’s first wearable, the Huawei Watch.

The device runs Android Wear out of the box and arrives with a 1.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that is sold in gold, silver and black.

The intelligent timepiece is powered by a Qualcomm 1.2GHz processor in combination with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

Interestingly enough, Huawei is still expected to make its product widely available for purchase in many markets. Hopefully, the second device won’t be delayed too.
