Next month will be pretty exciting for Android fans, as two flagship smartphones will be officially revealed by the major players in the business, Huawei and HTC.

Both Huawei P9 and HTC 10 will probably make their debut on the market soon after their announcement, but they will probably not compete with each other, judging by the specs they provide.

We’ve already talked about the HTC 10 quite a few times, so let’s just see what the Huawei P9 has to offer that will make you want to buy one.

Well, one of the most appealing features that Huawei P9 promises is dual camera setup. This means that the device will come with two 12-megapixel rear-facing cameras that will support OIS (optical image stabilization).

We also believe that they will include Leica lenses since the German company and Huawei have recently signed a partnership for the improvement of the cameras in the upcoming handsets.

Leica lens for the rear-facing cameras?

Huawei P9 could be the first smartphone launched by the Chinese company that will pack Leica camera lenses, but this information has yet to be confirmed.

It’s also worth mentioning that Huawei P9 will be officially unveiled on April 6, but before the announcement goes live, Chinese blog MyDrivers has published a couple of low-resolution photos showing the flagship smartphone.

The pictures confirm once again that the P9 will feature a dual camera setup, as well as the fact that it will come with USB Type-C port. We can also see that Huawei P9 will pack a fingerprint scanner on the back side. Also, the device is likely to feature a metal body.

According to the rumor mill, Huawei P9 will be powered by a Kirin 950 processor, coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. It will also sport a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Huawei plans to launch 4 P9 variants with different specs inside. The lite version will be the cheapest, but it will miss important features like dual camera setup and the Kirin 950 CPU. More details will most likely be revealed on April 6, so stay tuned.
