Huawei has kept the tradition in the last couple of years and unveiled its flagships for the first half of the year at Mobile World Congress. The newest flagships announced by the Chinese company, the P10 and P10 Plus, will hit the shelves in about two weeks from now.

Speaking to Android Central, Huawei's Vice President of Handsets Product Bruce Lee said that we should expect future flagship smartphones to be announced in a similar cadence. Basically, this means that Huawei P11 will be revealed next year at Mobile World Congress.

In the future, we will probably launch the devices at Mobile World Congress,” added Lee. He also said that his company usually plans to make its flagship smartphones available for purchase around the Easter period in Western Europe.

The timeline chosen by Huawei is meant to boost the sales of its flagship, but also to reduce the time between the official announcement and the actual availability of the device. That way, the company will reduce costs of longer marketing campaigns and should also maintain the hype around its products.

Unfortunately, Huawei did not manage to release its P8 and P9 as quickly as it wanted, but the Chinese handset maker made its homework and the P10 and P10 Plus will go on sale at the right time.

Huawei's standalone launch events are highly popular, but Mobile World Congress offers better exposure to its new products since they are presented to a much larger audience.

Journalists who attend Mobile World Congress each year will be able to attend Huawei's press conferences or simply take the company's products for a spin.

In the same piece of news, it's worth noting that Huawei is using another trade fair to launch its other flagship smartphone for the second half of the year, IFA, which usually kicks off in September.
