14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei’s P9 was a very appealing smartphone upon its launch and the Chinese company is already working on a successor. Some images of the Huawei P10 prototype leaked online a few weeks ago, revealing the phone’s design.
The latest report shows that the Huawei P10 could have a dual-curved display, a design element that was present on many flagship smartphones launched last year. This wouldn’t be the first Huawei smartphone with a dual-curved display, as the Mate 9 also sported such a design.
Huawei is also said to launch two versions of the P10, one with a dual-curved screen and one with a flat display.
The successor to the Huawei P9 is also said to come with a fingerprint sensor on the front, embedded in the physical home button. The location of the sensor is in line with many recent phones, although some might argue that a fingerprint scanner on the back offers a more convenient way to unlock the phone.
Huawei P10 might support wireless charging
The smartphone might also come with wireless charging, which would make the P10 the first Huawei smartphone with this charging option. Recent rumors also point to the fact that the P10 might have a 5.5-inch curved-dual edge display with Quad HD resolution, an improvement compared to the P9 5.2-inch screen with full HD display.
Other rumors say that the smartphone might have a Kirin 960 chipset, Mali-G71 graphics processing unit and 6GB of RAM. Internal memory could reach 256GB. The phone may have a 12MP camera in the back, with 4k video recording, LED flash and HDR support. Front camera capacity could reach 8MP and the phone might run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The phone might be released in three to four months, so take this information with a grain of salt until new details emerge.
