Huawei has recently released its phablet flagship, the Mate 9, which is going to be available for purchase in the United States as well. The Chinese company did not introduce any new smartphones at this year's CES trade fair, but that's likely to change in one month from now.

The first flagship for 2017 that Huawei is expected to launch, the P10, will probably be announced at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in late February. Unlike the P9, the upcoming model will be available in two very different variations.

Rumor has it that Huawei plans to launch a Huawei P10 Plus version alongside the P10 base model. The main difference between the two is the type and size of the display. While the standard Huawei P10 is said to sport a 5.2-inch flat display, the P10 Plus is a phablet with a much larger screen size.

On top of that, Huawei P10 Plus will boast a dual-edge curved display, just like Samsung's Galaxy S7 edge. In terms of hardware, it's unclear whether or not the two smartphones will pack different configurations.

We do know that the upcoming flagships will be equipped with Huawei's own Kirin 960 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM. Aside from that, little is known about Huawei's P10 and P10 Plus flagships in terms of specs.

Today, news broke that Huawei will launch its P10 and P10 Plus smartphones in March or April. The information has been recently confirmed by Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Yu Chengdon.

If the new details shared by Huawei's official are accurate, then both smartphones should be officially unveiled in February, as previously expected.

This means that we still have a month to learn more about the P10 and P10 Plus, Huawei's new flagships for the first half of 2017, so stay tuned for more on this one.
