Google is expected to announce two Nexus smartphones towards the end of the year and the two devices have leaked online several times, showing us what to expect when they finally hit stores.

But real, physical evidence that the two Nexus smartphones exist hasn’t been so widespread. A video showcasing the purported Huawei Nexus has been spotted making the rounds online, though, and today we bring you a new batch of images showcasing the same phone, courtesy of French website Nowhere Else.

The images showcase what appears to be a pre-release or prototype model of the Huawei phone with stock Android. The photos do corroborate some rumors we’ve been hearing in the past. For starters, on the back lies a fingerprint scanner which is colored in such a way as to match the back chassis of the phone.

It was previously disclosed that the handsets would be made of metal, and the new images reveal that this will indeed be the case. We also get to see the large NEXUS branding plastered on the back of the device, plus the microphone.

Here's a preview of the Huawei Nexus

The front shows the 5.7-inch QHD display in combination with front-firing speakers and a front-facing camera.

A lot of people are pinning their hopes on this device, given the fact that Huawei is known to be making pretty decent phones. The company has risen to be the world’s third smartphone manufacturer and the deal with Google will certainly only bring more hype to it.

We’ve been hearing a lot of talk related to the upcoming Huawei phone, which indicates that it is bound to arrive with a Samsung-made AMOLED display (2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution), a powerful 21MP frontal camera with IMX230 sensor, and Rezence/WiPower wireless charging technology.

Other whispers also claim the handset will take advantage of a USB Type-C port. The Huawei Nexus will probably be the first device to come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed. Are you excited about the new stock-Android phone?

Update: @OnLeaks has joined in the saga by adding an image of the boot sequence that shows for the first time that the Huawei Nexus will indeed run on the Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) and not the Snapdragon 820 like previously rumored.

The first products running on a Snapdragon 820 on the inside are expected to ship out starting in March 2016, so it makes absolute sense that the new Nexus 6 won’t be powered by Qualcomm’s next-gen silicon. Sorry, folks!
