14 DAY TRIAL // It is common knowledge that all Huawei Android smartphones come with the company’s Emotion UI on top, which includes many apps and services specially developed by the Chinese company.
Although users seem to be more attached to devices that run cleaner UIs, like the Nexus family, OEMs such as Samsung, Huawei, LG, and Sony are trying to set their phones apart by including their proprietary UIs.
The majority of these UIs come with lots of unnecessary software, which, more often than not, can’t be uninstalled. Aside from the fact that it takes a lot of storage from the device’s internal memory, some of it is never used by the owner of the smartphone.
As of lately, OEMs have finally understood that it’s better to let users choose what apps and services they want to install on their handsets, so they have started to clean up their UIs of unnecessary bloatware.
Sadly, it’s only compatible with Huawei handsets
Huawei has just released on Google Play Store the first standalone Android application that usually comes integrated in EMUI.
The application is called Huawei Backup and allows users to back up software quickly and more easily. Users can even select what data they want to back up: personal data (contacts, SMS, MMS, call records, system settings, etc) or multimedia data (photos, video, audio).
„Huawei Backup is a mobile phone data backup software for the user, you can quickly and easily back personal data, applications, multimedia datain the local Huawei mobile phone,” reads the app’s description.
Huawei also states that its Backup application for Android devices features support encrypted backup, which should allow for more secure backup. Unfortunately, the app is only compatible with Huawei smartphones.
If you want to try it out, you can now download Huawei Backup for Android for free via Google Play store. It should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.
