Huawei has just released a teaser revealing that a new Honor smartphone will be made official this month. Specifically, Huawei’s Honor V9 will be announced on February 21, just one week ahead of MWC 2017.

Huawei wants to unveil a high-end smartphone before any other OEM, which is why the company will be making the Honor V9 official on February 21, according to TechUpdates. During the Mobile World Congress, many companies will be announcing new flagships, including LG with the G6.

The teaser that Huawei released doesn’t reveal any specs for the upcoming smartphone, it doesn’t even show the phone’s design. The Honor V9 will be announced during a conference in Beijing and it remains to be seen if it will be made available to other countries as well.

6GB of RAM and a dual-camera setup on the back

Honor is Huawei’s division of budget smartphones, but the rumored specs are far from mediocre. The Honor V9 recently cleared TENNA and some of its specs were revealed. The smartphone is said to come with 6GB of RAM and a dual-camera setup.

The dual-camera setup on the back of the V9 is said to feature a 12MP sensor, coupled with another 2MP camera. Front camera capacity might reach 8MP, while the phone is said to draw power from a 3,900mAh battery.

It will come with a fingerprint sensor on the back and an octa-core 2.4GHz processor, possibly Kirin 960. Other specs include 128GB of internal memory and a 5.7-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

The phone could support dualSIM and might be made available in another variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Rumors say that the phone’s price could start at $393, but we’ll have to wait until February 21 to confirm the specs and price.
