Huawei launched the Honor V8 earlier this month and it seems that the Chinese company is already working on yet another smartphone, the Honor 8. The latter will be a scaled-down version of the Honor V8, but it will feature a stylish design with glass on both sides of the phone.

A leak revealed some details on the upcoming Honor 8, as well as information on when Huawei intends to unveil the upcoming smartphone, according to GizmoChina.

It seems that Honor 8 will sport a smaller screen compared to the Honor V8, making it thus the successor of last year’s Honor 7. Rumors say that it might come with a 5.2-inch display and incorporate Huawei’s Kirin 950 or Kirin 955 chipset.

Honor 8 might have 4GB of RAM and a 12MP dual camera at the back. It could also come with USB Type-C port and support wireless charging. Honor 8 might boast an IR blaster and a battery capacity higher than 3,000mAh.

Honor 8 is rumored to be Huawei’s most beautiful phone

Honor 7 was released last year and came with a 5.2-inch display and a 64-bit Kirin 935 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz. It also had an impressive 20MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus.

The smartphone had an 8MP front selfie snapper and a 3,100mAh battery with quick charging option for getting up to 50% of battery in less than half an hour.

The predecessor to Honor 8 ran Android Lollipop 5.0 out of the box, but the upcoming smartphone should have Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.

The back of the phone will be covered by a 2.5D curved glass and possibly a metal frame for protection. The leak pegged the Honor 8 as the most beautiful Huawei smartphone, but that remains to be seen. Considering that Honor 7 was announced in June last year, Honor 8 could be unveiled next month at the earliest.
