The Meizu MX5 is not the only high-end flagship being released today in China, as Huawei is treating us to an offering of its own. As expected, the device maker has pulled the veil off the new Honor 7 smartphone, which has been released in a total of three different models.

What all have in common is a good-looking aluminum alloy exterior and most of the internal specs. The Honor 7 is offered with a 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution (Huawei doesn’t like 2K screens) and 423ppi.

The three models will come bundled with a 64-bit Kirin 935 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz for four of the Cortex-A53 cores it is made up of and 1.5GHz for the other remaining four, arranged in a big.LITTLE configuration with ARM Mali-T628 GPU.

The difference between the available variants can be spotted in their storage capacity, which ranges between 16GB and 64GB (with microSD card for memory expansion).

The Honor 7's camera takes advantage of a new Sony sensor

Huawei is offering a highly advanced main camera for the Honor 7, in the form of a 20MP rear shooter with Phase Detection Auto Focus. As in the case of the Meizu MX5, we’re probably dealing with a new Sony sensor on board, complete with f2.0 aperture, 6-lens module and sapphire glass for added protection.

The front-facing camera is of an 8MP variety and features wide-angle lens. As in the case of the Mate7, there’s a fingerprint sensor nestled beneath the rear camera.

All this goodness is sustained by a 3,100 mAh battery pack offering a quick charging option that will allow users to get to 50% of charge in just half an hour. Or you could fully rejoice your phone in 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Other specs include NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4-5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, GSM, WCDMA and LTE radios.

The phone’s dimensions are 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm / 5.62 x 2.83 x 0.33 inches, while its weight is of 157 g / 0.34 lbs. It ships out with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Huawei’s EMUI 3.1 interface plastered on top.

So, are you wondering already how much Huawei will end up asking for the new Honor 7 smartphone? Despite previous rumors, the Chinese company has decided to price the new device quite affordably, as it follows:

- 16GB base model with LTE available for $322 / €288

- 16GB model, dual SIM LTE for $355 / €317

- 64GB model for $400 / €358
