Huawei Honor 5X was officially introduced in China back in November 2015, but the handset maker confirmed early this month at CES 2016 that the smartphone will be available in other countries as well.

In fact, the Honor 5X is already available for purchase in the United States and will make its debut in Europe later today.

The smartphone doesn't cost more than $200 outright in the United States, but European prices might differ by country.

The Chinese version of Huawei Honor 5X has been confirmed to pack a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and either 2GB or 3GB of RAM.

However, the Chinese company confirmed to XDA that the Honor 5X will now come with a newer Qualcomm chipset, namely the 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor. The rest of the phone's specs remain the same as the Chinese model.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow should be rolled out soon

Although the smartphone ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, Huawei announced that an Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade will be available soon after launch.

If you're not familiar with Huawei Honor 5X's specs, here is a quick rundown of what the mid-range smartphone has to offer.

First of all, the device sports a decent 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It packs 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, Huawei Honor 5X includes a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual-LEd flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, whereas in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

According to Huawei, the Honor 5X is powered by a large non-removable 3,000 mAh battery and comes with fingerprint sensor, as well as 4G LTE and dual-SIM support.
