14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei released the Honor 5C in China in late April, and it seems that the European version is already here. The smartphone comes with roughly the same specs as the Chinese variant, and it’s available at multiple online retailers across Europe.
The European variant of the Honor 5C comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display with a pixel density of 424 ppi, the same as the one of the Chinese variant. Moreover, the smartphone packs a Kirin 650 processor with flagship FinFET Plus 16 nm chip technology.
It also provides 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with the option to expand the memory to 128GB. Then, it has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, auto-focus, and LED flash. Front camera capabilities reach 8MP, and battery capacity is set to 3,000mAh. It's also worth noting that the smartphone runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box with EMUI 4.1 on top.
The European variant of the Honor 5C doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor
The European variant features multiple connectivity options, including support for Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 and hotspot. It also comes with dual SIM and measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3 mm (5.79 x 2.91 x 0.33 in). The smartphone weighs 156 g (5.50 oz).
The only difference between the Chinese and European variants of the Honor 5C seems to concern the fingerprint sensor. More exactly, unlike the former, the latter doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor at all.
The company mentions on its website that the smartphone was tested using new quality assurance standard, which means that it underwent a drop test where it fell from 1.5 meters to see if its internal components or display would be gravely affected.
The European variant of the Huawei Honor 5C is available from vMall.eu, Expansys, Clove, and other online retailers. It comes in multiple color versions, including silver, gold, and gray, and its price is approximately £149.99 ($220) in the UK.
