Huawei's mid-range Android smartphone G8 has been spotted at TENAA last week, and we thought it would take the Chinese company a few weeks to officially unveil the device.

Well, it appears that Huawei was pretty quick on the matter and launched the G8 in China this weekend, a new report confirms.

Two versions of the Huawei G8 will go on sale in the Mainland in the next couple of days, so customers will be able to pick the one that better fits their needs and budget. It's also worth mentioning that the device will be available in Black, Gold and White.

The 2GB RAM version of G8 costs $370 (€335) outright, while the 3GB model will be available in China for around $435 (€395) outright.

It's also worth mentioning that the 2GB RAM comes with 16GB of internal memory, whereas the 3GB variant packs no less than 32GB of storage. Apart from that, both Huawei G8 models come with similar specs, including fingerprint scanners.

No word on G8's availability outside China

As mentioned earlier, Huawei G8 is a mid-range smartphone that ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Emotion UI.

The G8 packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB). The smartphone sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

On the inside, the G8 is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit.

There's also a 13-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, dual-LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.

Huawei G8 is powered by a high-capacity 3,000 mAh battery and offers multiple connectivity options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.
