14 DAY TRIAL // With just a few hours until the official reveal of the Mate 9, Huawei announced the immediate availability of the Fit, a fitness tracker that features continuous heart rate tracking.
The new fitness tracker will be available for purchase in the United States beginning today for just $129.00. The following retailers will offer the device to those who want to buy it: Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg.
Huawei hasn't made any comments regarding the availability of the Fit in Europe or any other regions for that matter, so we're still waiting for the Chinese company to confirm whether or not the fitness tracker will be released worldwide.
The Huawei Fit features a round form factor and offers consumers multiple options when it comes to straps. The fitness tracker can be combined with silver or gray finish, with black, orange, or blue straps, which can be swapped for other 18mm wide straps.
Although the Fit does not include a GPS under its hood, it easily syncs with Huawei's Wear application, which is available on both the Android and iOS platforms.
Moreover, the fitness tracker can detect whether you're walking, running,or sleeping, but it can also measure step counts, distances, calories burned, as well as duration of sleep.
According to Huawei, the Fit is very accurate when it measures heart rate. Despite the recent debacle concerning the inaccuracy of heart rate monitoring fitness bands, the Fit promises as high accuracy as possible thanks to its “high signal strength.”
For those who have just started running on a regular basis, but want to achieve more in this sport, Huawei Fit offers training guidance for 5K, 10K, half marathons, as well as full marathons.
Aside from its fitness tracking features, Huawei Fit comes with support for incoming calls and messages. On top of that, the Chinese company claims the Fit's battery should provide up to six days of normal use, and up to 30 days when in standby. Also, it takes about 2 hours to charge the Fit to full battery.
UPDATE: Huawei has announced that Fit will also be available in Europe where customers will be able to buy it for €199.
