Great news for Android fans looking to score good deals on smartphones, as Huawei has just announced a new mid-range handset that won't cost a fortune.

Huawei Enjoy 5S has been officially introduced in China and will soon go on sale for 1,100 yuan ($170 / €160) or 1,200 yuan ($185 / €175) outright, depending on the model (unlocked or carrier-branded).

The Chinese company announced that Enjoy 5S will be available in three color versions: Gold, Silver and Titanium Gray. Unfortunately, there's no word on its availability outside China for the moment.

Huawei Enjoy 5S is the successor of another smartphone the handset maker launched not long ago in October 2015. However, the new device comes with a few improvements over the Enjoy 5, though some of its features feel rather short.

Better CPU than Enjoy 5, and more RAM too

For example, the Enjoy 5S comes equipped with a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753T processor while the predecessor model packs a quad-core CPU.

Also, Huawei Enjoy 5S packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. However, since the smartphone features Hybrid dual-SIM support, you will have to decide whether to use two SIM cards or one SIM card and an SD memory card.

It's also worth mentioning that the new Enjoy smartphone sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, whereas the older model comes with a slightly smaller 4.7-inch display with a similar resolution in tow.

Sadly, Huawei Enjoy 5S is powered by a smaller 2,200 mAh battery, while the previous model packs 2,300 mAh battery that should last slightly longer.

Last but not least, Huawei confirmed that Enjoy 5S would ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it.
