The updates are likely to be released worldwide

Chinese handset maker Huawei announced last week that it would release an Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta build for Honor 7 sometime this month.

The company did not confirm whether this beta would be open to public, or just a limited number of users will be invited to test the new Marshmallow build.

If you are one of the many Android users that doesn't own the Honor 7, but still rock one of Huawei's Honor family smartphones, you will be pleased to know that the Chinese company has just confirmed that several more devices will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates.

According to Huawei India, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be available for its Honor family of smartphones starting February 2016. This means that you should check for any OS updates until Q1 2016.

Anyway, here is the list of Honor smartphones that have been confirmed to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates beginning next year: Huawei Honor 4C, Huawei Honor 6 Plus, Huawei Honor 7, Huawei Honor 6 and Huawei Honor 4X.

However, these won't be the only smartphones that Huawei will upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The company has recently released a list of smartphones that will receive the same update in the coming months.

The update is meant for Chinese variants of these smartphones, but we expect Huawei to make them available globally soon after their initial release.

Here is the list of Chinese smartphones that will be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates: Huawei P8, Huawei Mate 7, Huawei Mate S, Huawei P8 Youth Edition, Huawei P8 Max, Huawei G8 Chinese Variant, Huawei G7 Plus, Huawei G7, Huawei Honor 7, Huawei Honor 7i, Huawei Honor 6 Plus, Huawei Honor 6, Huawei X2, Huawei 4X, and Huawei Play 4C.

Since we don't have an exact release date for these updates, we're hoping for more details to emerge in the coming months, so stay tuned for more on this one.
