HTC to bring Android Oreo update to U11, HTC 10, and U Ultra

HTC is currently teasing users on Twitter with a November 2 event where it is believed that the company will launch a new U11 model, more specifically the rumored HTC U11 Plus.

There were lots of rumors of the HTC U11 Plus smartphone, and HTC says that you'll believe it all next week, on November 2, when the company will unveil the new device and its specifications, some of which were already revealed, even by HTC itself.

As such, HTC U11 Plus could boast a 5.99-inch display with a 2880x1440 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and come with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage.

As with many Android handsets, users will be able to expand the internal storage of the device using the MicroSD slot. HTC U11 Plus features a fingerprint scanner on the back, along with a 12MP camera with autofocus and f/1.7 aperture.

November 2 event to be held in Taipei, Taiwan

On the front, HTC U11 Plus could be sporting a 8MP camera with flash, and the smartphone is believed to be water and dust resistant, IP68 certified. According to other rumors, the device could launch with new BoomSound speakers and squeezable sides.

During the November 2 event, which HTC will hold in Taipei, Taiwan, the Taiwanese consumer electronics company may announce another smartphone in the U11 series, namely HTC U11 Life, which is a mid-range handset sporting a smaller 5.2" screen and lower specs.

One thing is for sure, HTC is bringing Google's latest Android 8.0 "Oreo" Linux-based operating system to the HTC U11, HTC 10, and HTC U Ultra devices via upcoming software updates, and HTC U11 Plus and U11 Life might be using Android Oreo too.
