14 DAY TRIAL // HTC is expected to announce at least three new phones on January 12, and it seems that details about the new devices are leaking on a daily basis. Just a few hours ago, we reported that HTC One X10 would feature a 3.5mm headphone jack on top, unlike the HTC U Ultra and U Play.
While we have a general idea regarding specs on the mid-range One X10, not much has been known about the flagship U Ultra until today. Android Pure has stumbled upon a leak on Weibo which details all the major components to be found on the new phone.
HTC U Ultra will reportedly feature a 6.0-inch Quad HD (2K) screen, which means a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440. The phone will incorporate 4GB of RAM, which should go well with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, the latest chipset released by the company.
HTC U Ultra could feature a dual-camera setup on the back
The new octa-core SD835 SoC is said to provide improved performance and reduced battery consumption. The chipset was designed to run on various operating systems, including Android and Windows 10.
It supports various forms of entertainment experiences on smartphones, tablets, mobile PCs, and other devices. However, the Galaxy S8 is rumored to be the first smartphone to feature Snapdragon 835 SoC, which makes this rumor less credible.
Nonetheless, the report mentions 64GB of internal storage for the HTC U Ultra and a dual-camera setup on the back with 24MP and 13MP sensors. The front camera might have a capacity of 16MP and the phone could draw power from a 4,000mAh battery.
It could also feature a fingerprint scanner on the back. Previous rumors have indicated that the HTC U Ultra or Ocean Note will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack and feature a USB Type-C port. Take the latest specs leak with a grain of salt, as all will be revealed during the January 12 announcement.
