The handset maker continues to tease its flagship

We've just finished reporting about the first flagship smartphones announced this year, and we're already preparing for new ones that are supposed to arrive in the next couple of months.

While Samsung, LG and Xiaomi have decided to make their top-tier handsets official at MWC 2016, companies like HTC, Motorola and Huawei plan to introduce their flagship later this spring or summer.

It's been rumored for quite a while that HTC will launch its next flagship smartphone on April 11, but the first official teaser only came a few days ago.

Today, HTC Chief Official Officer Chialin Chang told CNET that customers will find the One M10's camera “very, very compelling.”

A bold statement hopefully backed by some powerful camera technology

The official was very confident in its statement since he went on and said that “we're making this comment after we've seen what's going on in the market.”

Basically, HTC watched the competition bring its flagship to the market and now plans to counter everything they announced with its own offerings. It remains to be seen whether or not the Taiwanese company has something new to bring to the table.

Furthermore, HTC's statement is bold to say the least since one of the biggest drawbacks of its previous flagship, the One M8, was the camera. But the handset maker thinks it got it right this time and it's ready to take on the competition.

In the same piece of news, HTC leakster LlabTooFeR claims the One M10, or whatever its name, will be launched in three variants: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

Some of them will only be available in select markets, so depending on your location you might find just the 16GB variant (emerging markets?) or the other two.

Aside from the Snapdragon-based model, HTC might also launch a cheaper version of One M10 powered by a MediaTek chipset, but take this a speculation for the moment.
