Are you ready for HTC’s latest beastly products?

Instead of launching its next big thing a few days ago, HTC ended up unveiling the middle-range Desire 728. Naturally, we’re talking about the high-end A9, which we expect will be HTC’s grand “hero” product the company promised some time ago.

Well, according to a new report coming out of G for Games, it seems that we have to wait until the end of the month, September 29, to be more precise, in order to see the HTC One A9 go official.

Interestingly enough, HTC has scheduled this event on its home court in Taiwan, during the same day Google will take the wraps off the Huawei Nexus and LG-made Nexus 5. So who do you think will get overshadowed? We hope it won’t be HTC again.

Will we see more than one smartphone coming out HTC on September 29?

The invitation mentions something along the lines of “dual flagships,” so we can only guess that HTC plans to unveil not one, but two premium smartphones. It is speculated that the Taiwanese device maker might roll out the Butterfly 3 smartphone alongside the mysterious One A9. However, at this point, we just don’t know what will end up being the case.

There’s the possibility that we might end up seeing an M9+ model coming with optical image stabilization and faster focusing. But that’s just a theory. Going back to the Butterfly 3, we’re told that the phone might hit retail locations this October with a price tag of about $637 / €570. Keep in mind that the Butterfly 3 could be an Asian exclusive, while the One A9 might be sold internationally.

The One A9 is a very mysterious smartphone that should help HTC wipe out the disaster that was its One M9 flagship. Design-wise, the newcomer could be very different (we hope) from other flagship smartphones launched by HTC in the last couple of years.

The rumor mill claims that the phone will be powered by MediaTek’s deca-core platform in combination with 4GB of RAM. It will also sport a large capacitive touchscreen display that offers either full HD (1080p) or QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

We also known that the HTC One A9 should make it out into the US via AT&T, but other carriers might also get it. The new model should cost between $500 / €447 and $600 / €536, but pricing options might vary by region.
