HTC was the manufacturer of Google’s two smartphones that were launched just a week ago, the Pixel and Pixel XL. HTC is also working on some upcoming smartphones, one of which is HTC Bolt. Information on the phone has been surfacing for some weeks now and Venture Beat has just come across pictures of the device.

The smartphone does seem to resemble one of HTC’s previous flagships, the HTC 10, with its all-metal design and fingerprint scanner on the front. Still, the HTC Bolt appears to be larger than the HTC 10, featuring a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution.

The HTC Bolt doesn’t appear to have a 3.5mm headphone jack, which might make it the first HTC smartphone to not include the widely used port. This also means that the smartphone will most likely come with a USB Type-C port and users would need to get compatible headphones.

In addition, many smartphone makers, like Motorola and Apple, have ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack, which means that this could quickly become a trend on the smartphone market.

HTC Bolt could run Android Nougat and have 3GB of RAM

Rumors on the upcoming smartphone say that it could run Android Nougat with Sense 8.0 UI out of the box. In addition, the HTC Bolt might come with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal memory.

It could also have HTC BoomSound speakers with dedicated amplifiers and digital sound processors, as well as proprietary software. BoomSound was first introduced on the HTC One and HTC One Mini. HTC Bolt could also come with a dual LED flash rear camera, but that remains to be seen.

HTC Bolt could be released later this month in the US at Sprint and in several other markets around the world. More information on the upcoming smartphone will surely surface over the next few weeks.
