14 DAY TRIAL // One of the most popular smartphones that haven't been officially announced, the HTC Bolt, is about to make its debut in the United States. HTC's first smartphone powered by Android 7.0 Nougat will be available globally, but it will be introduced in the U.S. first.
HTC fans will be able to grab the Bolt exclusively via Sprint for a price that will be unveiled closer to launch (hopefully). In the last couple of weeks we've had our fair share of leaks regarding the HTC Bolt, including details about the phone's specs and several photos.
Today marks the day that the first official press render of the HTC Bolt makes headlines. The device looks pretty standard for a flagship handset, but more importantly, it confirms some of the rumors regarding the Bolt's specs.
In fact, some of the phone's hardware has been revealed in a recent promotional material from Sprint, which leaked about the same time as the press render. According to the promo, the HTC Bolt will feature IP57 water and dust resistance and an all-metal unibody.
Also, the phone will boast a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording and dual-LED flash, as well as a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front.
Another piece of information confirmed by this ad is the 5.5-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, not full HD (1080p) as previously rumored.
On the inside, the phone is expected to pack 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Also, the HTC Bolt will be powered by a 3,200 mAh battery, and it will feature a USB Type-C port along with BoomSound Adaptive Audio earphones in the sales package.
HTC Bolt will be available at Sprint beginning next week in two colors: Carbon Gray and Glacier Silver. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.
