HTC had a terrible first half of the year and things don't seem to get better for the second half unless the Taiwanese company starts selling its smartphones in huge quantities.

The good news for HTC fans is the company is already working on the next high-end smartphone, which is said to be an intermediate device.

The so called HTC Aero will be completely redesigned and will pave the way for the next flagship smartphone that's expected to be unveiled in the first quarter next year.

The first rumors about the Aero emerged last month, but not many details were known about the smartphone's hardware and software configuration beside the fact that it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset.

A 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor inside the HTC Aero makes sense since the smartphone is on track for an October release or around that timeframe.

Qualcomm has yet to make its Snapdragon 820 available for commercial use, but from what we know that's going to happen later this fall.

Improved display and a much better camera with RAW support

Apart from the powerful chipset, HTC Aero is also said to boast a Quad HD display of unknown size. This isn't the first time the Taiwanese company puts such an advanced screen into its smartphones.

According to PhoneArena, the phone's display will feature 2.5D glass design and will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.

We also know the Aero will pack an advanced camera that will feature support for RAW files and a f/1.9 aperture, which is unusual for an HTC smartphone.

No other details on the phone's specs or pricing options are available for the moment, but we know for sure that if nothing wrong happens, HTC Aero will be launched on the market in Q4 2015.
