14 DAY TRIAL // HTC has finally taken the wraps off its new flagship smartphone, and if you’ve been following our previous reports, then you definitely know that there’s nothing surprising about the device.
HTC 10 will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and Sense 8.0 UI on top of it, which aims to offer users full control over the phone thanks to the new „Freestyle” home page that removes the standard grid layout.
The flagship features a full metal body and measures 145.9 x 71.9 x 9 mm. At 161g, it’s a bit heavier than Samsung Galaxy S7, which weighs around 152g (battery included).
The “juicy” part is the fact that HTC 10 comes with a 12-UltraPixel rear camera which is supposed to take amazing night pictures. The camera features a 1.55-micron pixels, f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, and OIS (optical image stabilization).
As expected, HTC 10 sports a 5.2-inch Super LCD 5 capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Also, it comes with USB Type-C port for blazing fast data transfers, as well as BoomSound speakers with hi-res audio technology.
Both cameras feature OIS and other advanced features
The physical Home button hides a fingerprint scanner, while on the front, right above the display, there’s a secondary 5-megapixel camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), f/1.8, autofocus and a 1.34-micron pixel sensor.
Hardware-wise, HTC 10 is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with either 32GB or 64GB storage inside, which can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card slot.
The 3,000 mAh battery is supposed to get you through 2 days of use, at least according to HTC, but that's a bit hard to believe considering other flagship have larger batteries and don't offer as much usage.
According to HTC, its flagship smartphone is now available for pre-order via htc.com for $700 outright, but it won’t go on sale until sometime in May.
In the United States, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon offer the HTC 10 beginning today, but the unlocked model sold via htc.com is also compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T carriers.
