The global version of the Sprint-exclusive HTC Bolt

HTC has already introduced its mid-range Android smartphone, the Bolt, in the United States. The handset is exclusive to Sprint, so its availability is pretty limited even in the only country where it's been launched.

But if you've been following the news about the HTC Bolt, then you already know the Taiwanese company planned all along to launch the smartphone globally. We didn't have a timeframe for its release date, which is why we couldn't confirm when it would land in other countries, but now we do.

HTC has just started to send invitations to a major launch event in Taiwan where the main star, we believe, it's going to be the Bolt. Obviously, the smartphone will be unveiled with a different name, but it will probably pack the same hardware configuration under the hood as the HTC Bolt.

As previous rumors suggest, the phone will be rolled out globally as HTC 10 Evo, but will most certainly be priced differently. In the United States, Sprint is selling the HTC Bolt for $600 outright, but the phone could be even cheaper in China, while in other countries there's a chance that it will be slightly more expensive.

If you weren't interested in what the HTC Bolt has to offer due to its availability being limited to the U.S., here is a quick overview of the phone's main specs.

First of all, the HTC 10 Evo will most likely ship with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, just like the Sprint-exclusive HTC Bolt.

Hardware-wise, the phone packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).

The good news is the 10 Evo sports a more than decent 5.5-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The phone lacks a 3.5mm audio jack, but features USB Type-C port.

Another highlight of the phone is the 16-megapixel camera on the back, along with the no less impressive 8-megapixel selfie camera. It's also worth mentioning the HTC 10 Evo features a water resistant design (IP57 certification) and it might come in two variations: 32GB and 64GB.
