14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, the Sprint-exclusive HTC Bolt has just been made available to the whole world under a different name. The HTC 10 Evo will be available for purchase in time for the holiday shopping season, but no price has been announced yet.
However, considering the HTC Bolt sells for $600 in the United States, we would expect the Taiwanese company to price the global version similarly.
Also, rumor has it that customers in the UK will be able to pick this one up for £450 or £500 outright. In a surprising move, HTC announced that the new smartphone would only be available for purchase online, probably due to the not-so-good relationship the company has with European carriers.
HTC 10 Evo is basically the same device as the HTC Bolt that has been introduced at Sprint earlier this month. There are no differences in terms of design or specs, so here is what you can get if you plan to buy HTC's new high-end device later this year.
First of all, the metal-clad phone features a water resistant design (IP57 certification) and sports a 5.5-inch Super LCD 3 display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.
Hardware-wise, the HTC Evo 10 packs a 2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable up to 2TB via microSD).
On the back, there's a 16-megapixel camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), OIS (optical image stabilization), f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording. There's also a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
The HTC 10 Evo is powered by a 3,200 mAh battery, which features Quick Charge 2.0 support. It lacks 3.5mm audio jack, but offers users USB 2.0 Type-C instead.
HTC notes the phone comes with the BoomSound Adaptive Audio technology, along with three mics with noise cancellation. Also, the phone ships with Android 7.0 Nougat and the world's first USB Type-C adaptive earphones.
