Security remains a top issue at Hewlett Packard, and this is the reason the company has decided to start giving its clients better and faster security solutions, being brought also in portable form factors.

In the light of the recent high-profile hacks, HP clients consider that, with the advent of Windows 10, better security solutions must be taken into account, especially when the new OS comes with a host of security enhancements like Device Guard, Windows Hello, and Microsoft Passport, which offer advanced malware protection and authentication across platforms.

However, one of the most ignored potential attack vectors remains the root, or the BIOS, which can be accessed by potential viruses and can be easily compromised by installing key-logging software.

In order to avoid such threats, HP offers the only self-healing BIOS protection tool, the HP Sure Start, which checks the BIOS before the operating system boots, and if data has been changed or tampered with, it will reset it to its original condition.

With new security updates come new products

Besides this new security offer from HP and support for the new Windows 10 security tools, the company will provide other security and manageability solutions for businesses. HP Client Security is one of them and is an IT-friendly pre-installed suite of integrated solutions that prevent unauthorized access to hard drives through disk encryption and passwords. Multi-factor authentication is another HP solution that will allow users to offer new credential to encypted system, and it includes passwords, smart cards, Bluetooth, PIN and fingerprint matching. Then there's HP Touchpoint Manager, which will simplify the enforcement of security across multiple platforms by employing a unified security model across many platforms like PCs and mobile devices, updating even older software to alert IT departments when something has been compromised.

Also, with the new security features, HP brings a special Windows 10-dedicated portfolio to suit HP customers and their corporate image. Moreover, all devices coming from mid-August through October will have Windows 10 pre-installed. These will include HP EliteBook Folio 1020, a business-class notebook, and HP Pro Tablet 608 with 4:3 aspect ratio designed for mobile workflows.

This way, HP is gearing its entire business-to-business department for the impending Windows 10 launch on 29 July, making sure that hacking breaches will be minimized as much as possible.
